Issues with installation

So far I've created a partition and mounted the iso onto a cd and installed it. when i reboot and try to run linux i get
windows boot manager telling me windows failed to start.
file: \linuxmint\winboot\wuildr.mbr
status: 0xc000007b
info: the application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.

I'm really new to linux this is my first time installing so far its not going so well. any help would be much appreciated.
Just let me no if there is any more info i need to share.
