Can't enable tracker

Postby kwatson512 on Sun Apr 27, 2008 11:31 pm

I've tried using Tracker to find files, but it usually doesn't find anything. When it does, l can't ever open them. What do I need to do to enable it or populate a database?

Thanks,
Ken

Sorry I don't know. I use locate to find files
In a terminal
Code: Select all
sudo updatedb

to update its database
then
Code: Select all
locate -i your-search-phrase

If you get to many hits
Code: Select all
locate -i your-search-phrase | less
