Opera problems

Postby jungar on Mon Apr 28, 2008 7:34 am

Hi,

i just managed to somehow install Opera. and i dont know how to install the flash player

ALSO.. i get an ERROR message everytime i open opera. i can still sorta use it, but for what it's worth, this is what the error message says:

It appears another Opera instance is using the same configuration directory because its lock directory is active:

home/my username/ .opera/lock

what is this? how can i fix it?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

http://www.opera.com/linux/docs/plugins/install/#flash
For the lock file
Try to remove the lock file first:
1. Close Opera.
2. Open a terminal
3. Enter "sudo rm /home/(your username)/.opera/lock".

If this won't work, try this:
1. Close Opera.
2. Uninstall Opera.
3. Open a terminal
4. Enter "sudo rm -r /home/(your username)/.opera".
5. Install Opera.

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Works really nice once you sort the fonts out. All flash/wmv etc work without any work. And hasn't crashed playing flash like FF does.

Menu's still look f**k ugly though.
