Restore default *releases file

Postby troysjanda on Thu Dec 13, 2012 12:23 am

In an effort to install the Ubuntu Software Center I modified the *releases, and *issue file with the following command and info

gksu gedit /etc/*release
and now change everything in the file which is opened in gedit:
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=12.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=Precise
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04"

Now run following command:
gksu gedit /etc/*issue
and change to:
Ubuntu 12.04 \n \l

I would like to restore the default information for LinuxMint 14 Nadia, can someone please help.
Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Don't want to bring back the dead, but I am having an issue related to this.

I tried installing USC as well, and then removed it, but I am now missing packages from Software Manager (a lot of packages) and I do not know which ones are default or how to get the old ones back...

EDIT:

Ok,

So I found the source of the problem here, I accidently uninstalled the Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal Repository, does anyone know what that is?
