Compiling network drivers without internet

Postby GekkoRoman on Sun Dec 30, 2012 3:52 pm

Hi.

Neither my wireless nor my ethernet card seem to be supported by Maya. I described them here. I've found directions to compile the drivers hereand here. I'm trying to transfer all the necessary programs from my other laptop via USB drive. However, I keep running into endless dependency issues. Am I doing this right?

Alternatively, is there a better distro for this laptop! LOL

welcome to windows 3.11 *.dll hell err i mean UNIX dependency hell, man unix so needs to standardize their core system files and get a real install manager "and uninstaller manager" going.

synaptic all nice and good but its still dependent on the net.
dealing with tarballs is a disaster zone.
