Cinnamon Installation Problem on Mint v14

I'm new to Mint and wanted to give it a test drive in VMWare. For some reason when I go to Software Center and install "cinnamon" it doesn't show it as being installed in Software Center and when I log out, there is no Cinnamon session to select. Has anyone experienced this issue on v14?

Could you run apt install cinnamon in terminal and post the output?
