I think that you are making life very difficult by trying to use your speedtouch, however if you want to try this thread may help:

Hi,
I am not trying to use speedtouch per-se, I just have no other option to connect to the internet

I told you that I have a router that my ISP gave me a month or so ago but I cant use it because it doesn't take IPs, and I have no idea why it takes no IPs, which is why I assumed it was the network adapter that is at fault for this.
Anyway, I couldn't understand anything from the link you gave me above as I am beginner (read VERY beginner) with Linux and so I have no idea what to do with those instructions and lines of code, where to type them (probably in terminal but there was no clear instructions on what to type exactly) or how to install programs. Yep, I am clueless about how to install programs in Linux, and that's after 3 days of playing with it
Now, about the code you gave me for typing into terminal. I hope that at least I got this one right

Here's what typing "lspci" into terminal and hitting ENTER returned:

Also - unrelated to our subject - I have 5 partitions on my hard drive that are displayed on the desktop (inside Linux I mean) and when I hover the mouse over any of these partitions it says "Removable Volume, Not Mounted Yet". That "removable" word worries me since I am not really sure that I formatted and partitioned the drive correctly when I installed Mint 14.
So, can I ask you why it says "removable" and why it also says "not mounted"? What if I accidentally delete one of those icons on the desktop? Does it affect the correspondent partition as well? Please let me know cause I am concerned. I have Windows XP installed on this computer and I don't want to lose any OS installation or any files as I have no backup drive to backup 400 GB of data.
Thanks and let's solve this internet issue once and for all, cause I can't stand being at the mercy of Windows anymore.
Oh, and one more thing: you forgot - in case you intended to provide tips for this issue to begin with - to tell me about the sound card. Why can't I hear any sound? Where do I get drivers for Linux for my sound card?
I have Linux Mint 14 (Nadia) Xfce x64 and sound card is Creative Soundblaster Xfi Xtreme Audio I think. Actually, I am not sure about the Xtreme part of it but everything else is accurate

And also the PC is P5N-E SLI (MotherBoard) Intel Core2 Quad Duo 2,4Ghz (CPU) HDD is Seagate (476 or 478 GB) I think, and RAM is 2GB. In case any of these matters (I saw on many threads people posting their computer configurations even though there was no reason for that)
