missing the outside edge of my desktop nvidia gtx560 ti

Im struggling to fix this issue, im running mint 14 cinnamon (x64) on a nvidia gtx 560 ti graphics card through hdmi to 32" television (hd ready) hdmi... i assumed that this would just be down to resolution settings so i have installed the nvidia most up to date driver and tried the different resolutions, the best one i have found is 1280x720 but there still seems to be the ouside cm's missing. Im new to linux so feel a bit lost with it tbh haha
