Messed up my terminal

Hi. I messed up my terminal...

is there a way to uninstall and reinstall it?

I don't know if it'll fix the issue, but yes, you can reinstall it.
Open the terminal and type in

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install --reinstall gnome-terminal


You may instead wish to purge it then install, since whatever's causing the issue will likely persist otherwise.

Yeah - the way to do that would be to simply type:

Code: Select all

sudo apt remove --purge gnome-terminal

and then do what passerby suggested.
