[SOLVED] can't see maximize, resize, close buttons

Post by singapurijus »

Hi,

i'm using Linux Mint 14 Nadia. Today i'm experiencing a strange behavior. All program windows (Firefox, Gedit, Task manager etc.) do not have their top panel (where minimize, maximize and exit icons are). I cannot drag windows and have to close them by pressing keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Q etc.
Also, running programs don't have their space on the panel. It is empty.

I've tried to attach a screenshot, but can't upload in .png or .xfc extensions.

Thanks for your ideas on what could be the issue here.

[SOLVED]
I googled around for an hour and found this solution:
sng wrote:

After playing around (moving and renaming all those hidden directories in my home folder) I ended up to ~/.cache/sessions/. A couple of xfce4* files existed in there, and after deleting them, I finally managed to successfully load xfce
It seems that the problem was with xfce windows manager, it didn't ended correctly while shutting down and the session was saved. So i had to manually delete couple of files and no everything is fine again.
