Updates

Just installed Linux-Mint 5. Did the updates The updates lock in the panel now shows no updates.In synaptic it shows up dates.Is it safe to do update in synaptic ?

I see five updates when I enable unsafe updates display, four of which are labelled as “known to be unsafe (on certain hardware)” and the other is 'Potentially unsafe”. Does this answer your question?

Sound like it is best to only use the Mint updater.
