How do you change this? I was in the middle of playing a game then the screen would fade to black; once it fades it's distracting because at the same time it would freeze my game temporarily, then I'd have to slide my finger across the touchpad to have it play again.

It seems my USB Controller doesn't send a message to the computer to signal that I'm using it; in Power Management there's nothing enabled for screen dimming, I tried to find a key in the Configuration editor to verify that I have it disabled, it seems I do, but it still will fade to black unless I use the touchpad or keyboard.

Is this an automatic unchangable feature in Linux Mint 14? I'm running on AC Power on a Netbook.

Nevermind, I found the problem, the screensaver was enabled as a blank screen.

THANK YOU!!! It was happening to me too. I never thought it was the Screensaver. Just thought it was one more "hidden setting" in some txt file I would need to edit....

Thank you once again. Now I can watch my movies without needing to move the mouse after every 5 minutes

I know this is pretty old, but I'm having the same issue and I haven't found anything else anywhere.

My screensaver is set to 30 minutes, "Dim display when idle" is unchecked, display is set to sleep at 1 hour, computer is set to sleep never. Display dims at 5 minutes though.

What am I missing?!
