Hi,

I am new to linux and i am having trouble with my sound.

Everytime i boot up linux mint, the speakers emit a constant 'pulsing sound' and no audio plays.

I found a temporary fix where i enter: sudo alsa force-reload into terminal and the results are as follows;

Terminating processes: 1623 1623 1623 1623 (with SIGKILL:) 1623 (failed: processes still using sound devices: 2092(pulseaudio)).
/sbin/alsa: Warning: Processes using sound devices: 2092(pulseaudio).
Unloading ALSA sound driver modules: snd-hda-codec-realtek snd-hda-intel snd-hda-codec snd-hwdep snd-pcm snd-seq-midi snd-rawmidi snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq snd-timer snd-seq-device snd-page-alloc (failed: modules still loaded: snd-hda-codec-realtek snd-hda-intel snd-hda-codec snd-hwdep snd-pcm snd-timer snd-page-alloc).
Loading ALSA sound driver modules: snd-hda-codec-realtek snd-hda-intel snd-hda-codec snd-hwdep snd-pcm snd-seq-midi snd-rawmidi snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq snd-timer snd-seq-device snd-page-alloc.

How can i get a permenant fix?

Also how do i make linux as the primary boot rather than windows?

When you install Linux Mint, the default boot (primary) is Linux mint; how you changed it (windows primary)?

Try to reinstall ALSA, often is missing a file and this generates problems.
