firestarter error messages when backinup files in mint 13

hi..
very new to mint 13..impressed so far but having problems when trying to backup my files, it goes through the paces and at the end backup tool shows error messages with a load of firestarter lines in error box and a load of other script starting /root/...........tried to copy them to put on here but couldnt..i installed firestarter and then uninstalled as read it was outdated and some people have probs with it..i was able to do a software backup but not my files..any ideas? any help would be appreciated
