Duplicate files

Post by Bee Dee »

I have numerous duplicate data files on my external hardrive. I want to clean it up. What would you recommend for a program to do this? These are not system files, just data files that I have created and saved in various folders. Thank you for any and all help.

Well, one way to do that is with fdupes. You can install it from the Software Manager, but you use it from the terminal. Some examples on this blog: http://gnuwhatimsaying.com/find-duplica ... th-fdupes/. There may also be a GUI application for this, other users may be able to recommend one.
