Additional Drivers - Clarification

Few doubts -

a)For many of the options - am getting the below message when i tried to activate the driver.
b)Am being shown few Nvidia drivers. Since i have Nvidia optimus laptop with bumblebee - I believe I don't need them and should not be shown as options. Right? Related post here.
c) Do any of you feel need for the feature to filter and view Activated / Deactivated drivers ?

I am extremely happy with Mint and these questions are purely for gaining knowledge since I intend to install / recommend Mint on system(s) of some of my friend(s) .

Open source drivers usually work better than proprietary drivers; to find out if your video card is running, open the terminal and type:
