When I try to update through the mint updater I always get a message saying it cannot find a repository or two. Is there a way to change the links to use to get the repositories?

Sure, you can edit your software repositories configuration either through the Software Sources program or by editing files manually in your /etc/apt folder. We can probably help, so if you want that please open the terminal application and run the following two commands (type them followed by enter, and type your password as required and note that you don't get any feedback as you type your password). Please copy the output here for us to have a look at. You can copy text to/from the terminal from its Edit menu.
