Gnome back to Cinnamon

Postby excollier on Fri Apr 12, 2013 9:19 pm

I just installed LM 13 Cinnamon 64 bit on a laptop, I configured Cinnamon, switched to Gnome to check it was working ok, and now I cannot get back to Cinnamon, despite changinging session.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please? No matter what I try, I cannot get out of Gnome DE.
Annoying. :(

You probably logs in to cinnamon fallback mode. Log in to Cinnamon session and share the output of:
Code: Select all
inxi -Gx

Sorry, took me a while to get back.
Here is the requested output
Code: Select all
ian@ian-HP-Pavilion-dv5-Notebook-PC ~ $ inxi -Gx
Graphics:  Card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV620 [Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series] bus-ID: 01:00.0
           X.Org: 1.11.3 drivers: ati,radeon (unloaded: vesa,fbdev) Resolution: 1024x768@59.9hz, 1024x768@60.0hz
GLX Renderer: Gallium 0.4 on AMD RV620 GLX Version: 2.1 Mesa 8.0.4 Direct Rendering: Yes
ian@ian-HP-Pavilion-dv5-Notebook-PC ~ $

Does this help my cause, or will I just re-install and stay away from Gnome?

No. Actually it does not. That looks ok and should be able to run Cinnamon. Have no clue then.

I just re-installed. waiting for updates to finish on a slowish connection.
I'm not going near Gnome again, I'll just stick with Cinnamon.
