After a few more hours of Searching google, I've solved my issues. Will post here incase someone stumbles upon the thread with the same issue.

I typed rfkill list into terminal. It told me both soft and hard were being blocked, I tried to turn my wifi on using Fn+F2(its my laptops wireless toggle) and it didnt do anything.

So I added a # infront of Blacklist bcm43xx in the file blacklist.conf (type cd /etc/modprobe.d/ and then sudo gedit blacklist.conf) saved the file.

Then i tried Fn+F2 and it turned on! But I didnt have any wireless networks showing up in the networks page. I removed b43 and reinstalled it(sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer) and restarted the system. Now it works perfect!

Thanks so much for posting this. I mearly went to your last step (sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer) and typed it into the terminal and rebooted and there was the wireless network!!!

Thanks again.
