filesharing cannot be activated

Postby hagraet on Fri Jun 20, 2008 3:10 pm

:?: Please help: In Elyssa I have no chance to share a folder in the Network.

When I try to activate a folder in the local network, I get the following warning, and I do not know, how to handle this: :?

'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare: cannot open usershare directory /var/lib/samba/usershares. Error Permission denied
You do not have permission to create a usershare. Ask your administrator to grant you permissions to create a share.

Filesharing cannot be activated.

Thanks

This is possibly a Nautilus bug.

I have a had no problems with this and am unfamiliar with the problem, but this is what's I have found searching Google with:

Code: Select all
samba usershare "error 255"

and

Code: Select all
samba "error 225"

Hope this helps!
