In Elyssa on my laptop, in the battery icon it shows 'Computer is running on AC power' on both when AC adaptor is connected or disconnected discharging battery.
The info on Battery charging or discharging is shown correctly though.
Does it need a fix.

That's definitely a bug
I don't think it needs a fix as you are aware of it - I think it will disappear by itself after an update or two...
