Nvidia forced res

Hi there the problem is i force my resolution and everytime i restart the computer it goes back to the defauly i have tried saving the config file but no luck, help greatly appreciated,

Open a terminal and run

displayconfig-gtk
This should let you specify gfx card/monitor res. You will need to reboot to take effect.

Thanks for reply but it did not work when i go to the nvidia x server settings it wont let me save the config file which i assume is what is needed to do to force res everytime i boot, this may help:

To be able to make nvidia-settings stick, you have to run it as root.
