Super key to open main menu

Postby larini on Tue Jul 15, 2008 6:51 am

Hi, it is possible to open the main menu using super key ?
I mean the main menu, not that floating menu that appears when press alt+f1.

This would be nice and very pratical.
Thanks.

The super key is used in key sequences for quite a few things in compiz.

So, you'd have to change the key sequences for many of the effects in Compiz as well. That's all, it's your choice. I'm not sure if it can be done or not.

I doubt it will be possible. The main menu in Mint is a custom menu application that is activated as an add-on to the panel, and afaik, has no shortcut key. On the other hand, if you are willing to forgo the Mint menu for the standard "Apps/Locations/System" menu, then you can appoint a shortcut to it via "Menu >> Preferences >> Keyboard Shortcuts".
