Is it awake?

While installing LMDE the darn thing goes to sleep and then when you try to wake it up all you get is the default desktop with no useful info on it. Before it went to sleep it would be showing all the files being updated. I do get the username with a padlock in upper-right corner.

I've been waiting for over 2 hours, internet connection is hi-speed so it should be done by now. I'm gonna play impatient buzzard and kill it. Anybody know what this new install after updates is supposed to do? Maybe it got stuck and wants me to do something? This is the third or fourth time I've seen this screen and I always get tired of waiting and pull the plug.

3's the charm? Nope, cinnamon-64 install is definitely broke. Good waste of an entire day.
