Mint as a Repository

Hi all,

I would like to use the Mint cd as a repository on my system , ubuntu 8.04.
to install mp3 codecs and other applications such as k3b.
Iknow this sounds odd but want to know this before i get the mint cd :lol:
I do not have an internet access at home so was wondering if that is possible or not..

Hi,

The Mint CD doesn't act as a repository. The Ubuntu CD does to some extend although it doesn't contain all the packages which come installed in it.

The best option is to order the repositories themselves on DVD: http://on-disk.com/product_info.php/cPa ... cts_id/477
