Type this in the terminal
orCode: Select all
sudo apt-get gnome
Mint is based on Ubuntu, so the same commands should work. I also think if you go to the Package Manager in mintMenu you should be able to find KDE packages and install them from there. I'm still very new to Linux so correct me if this is not the way to do it.Code: Select all
sudo apt-get gnome-desktop
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install gnome

sudo apt-get install gnome-desktop

Re: Installing gnome on linux mint.
Why don't you just backup your data save to a DVD RW or send it to an email so you can get it later.
Re: Installing gnome on linux mint.
I also suggested saving your data in an email. Where you can retrieve it later.
Also you may think about a memory card or a USB flash drive.
Perhaps these ideas could help
I do not know if Gnome will work just because KDE works.
