in windows it's called taskbar, in linux it's panel.
or go to menu->preference then find network or network settings.
if you don't understand how to use that, then you need to tell me how you connect your device in windows in details, does it need any username or APN or password to connect? what is your ISP? is it a mobile connection (which needs a SIM to connect) or Wimax?

now i can start to read more on linux and terminology crossover from windows to linux, meeting people like you makes moving to linux more enjoyable.
