Daryna firefox won't connect to website

Postby delanov on Sun Aug 24, 2008 3:42 pm

I followed the MintWifi Wiki and got the wifi connected with an IP. The two computers and a verticle green bar shows in the tray. But firefox won't connect to any website. Is there a simple reason why firefox won't connect. I have a lot more detail on the USB Adapter.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Are you connected to the internet, and not just your own LAN?
Try to ping something - like an OpenDNS server
Code: Select all
ping 208.67.222.222

If you get a response it's a problem with name resolution and a solution is found here

USB adapter connected direct to the internet, no modem or router is used.

Well that's impossible when it comes to wifi
Do you use a "hot spot"?
Please tell us which dongle you use - the chipset is the most important fact
You could get that from
Code: Select all
sudo lsusb -v
