Broken Sound.

Hi all.

Struggling here! Ive had ubuntu 8.04, Ive moved to mint and no matter what I try i cannot get the sound to play smoothly. I have an nvidia on board sound card and the sound is all broken up. (intermittent) Had this prob for months. Does anyone out there have any ideas how I can cure this once and for all?
