I want to connect to my friends computer via the remote desktop. i.e. I want to control his desktop.
How do I do it? Where do I enter the information and where can I get that information?

Have you tried the "Remote desktop" app in Control Center?
(that is if your friend also runs something in the Ubuntu family)
