Mint Upgrade vs. Synaptic

Postby chowanec on Sat Sep 20, 2008 12:44 pm

Hey all -- quick question. I noticed in Synaptic that under the Status Tab there is an entry for "Installed (Upgradeable)". If I install these, will it make mint unstable? Looks like a bunch of Kernel updates, Xorg, etc.

I tend to want to always upgrade stuff, so I am checking myself before doing something stupid. :)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

This is exactly why you should use mintUpdate for updates
If you use Synaptic - which is quite possible - you get every available update (including level 4 and 5)
This is like a lottery, for some it just works while others get lots of problems. This depends on chipset, CPU, GPU, amount of memory, LAN, WAN and the lot...
