There are two wifi signals with the generic name "linksys" in my apartment building - one of which is wep protected and the other is open. I find that once I boot up, the wep linksys shows up in the list of wireless connections but the other one doesn't (although it is the stronger signal). If I spend ten or twenty minutes enabling and disabling the network connections, the unprotected linksys will show up but even then there is no guarantee that my card will connect with it. Usually it will connect after three or four times, but sometimes the wifi list will revert to the protected linksys signal and I lose the unprotected linksys from the list. Can I remove the protected linksys from my wireless list somehow? Everytime that I want to connect to the wifi unprotected linksys signal it takes twenty to thirty minutes. Not very practical. Thanks for any help.

PS - I really love Linux Mint so far.
