Need help reverting to Ubuntu start menu

Post by spaceboy »

I'm not sure I care for the Mint start menu, as I've been using Ubuntu for about a year and a half now.

Is it possible to use the default Ubuntu menu and feature set in Mint?

Also, in case I can't do that or decide to switch back to Mint's version, there's at least one feature missing that is very convenient that I would like to have back, and that is in Ubuntu when you right click on a start menu app icon, it gives you the option to "add launcher to desktop / panel".

Is there an easy way to add in this feature to the Mint menu?

Drag and Drop the app to the panel.

heh. Thanks, I'm so used to it the other way I didn't even think about dragging it.

I still might want to switch completely to the Ubuntu style start menu. Any ideas how to do that?

Oh yea forgot to post that.
Right click on the panel and add applet, then select the gnome menu applet.

I believe in the add to panel menu the third of the menu's is the Ubuntu Menu (with App, place, system as seperate parts) I'm not a huge fan of the default Mint menu either. Gets crowded too fast while the ubuntu one pretty much requires a second panel. So the Second option is mine.
