Installing jre on linux mint 17
This is from a newbie, as green as it gets, I need to install jre on my system, i've read postings, articles that assume you have some experience in installing software, what I need if not to much of a hassle, a guiding hand, step by step on how to install downloaded software, anyone out there, thank you in advance for the help. plain_green.

JRE is installed already in Mint 17.
To install software, the best way is using the Software Manager. (Click on Menu>Software Manager) Type in what you are searching for, and maybe what you need will pop up in the list of software that is available.
