I have had the Canon Scanner 1220 installed on WXP. I want to install it in Mint17. When I go to the Canon website I don't see any drivers for Linux....only for Windows and Apple.
Would appreciate some installation help/guidance.

I have a Canon Pixma MG2220 and had problems getting it to work with either Peppermint or Linuxmint. While LM17 did recognize the printer it still wouldn't recognize the scanner. I have some Linux drivers for my printer that I had gotten from either a European or Australian site. Sorry, I got the files awhile back and I'm old and my brain has leaks. There are actually two files I had to load...one is the main driver files and the other is ScanGear. Paint Shop Pro 4.x still can't find the scanner but using XSane with Gimp solved my scanner problems. If you're interested in trying these drivers that I have I can either attach them to an email to you or I can put them on my website someplace for you to download from there. Or you can try hitting the search engines.

Do you have libsane installed? It should cover your scanner. Also, there are commercial drivers for that scanner if libsane doesn't cover it:
