Check this for your game:
WineHQ - Wine Application Database: https://appdb.winehq.org/
It'll tell you others' experiences, if your software is in the database.

You can install missing windows components fairly easily with "winetricks" (you might have to install it). Usually.

winetricks -> "Select default wine prefix", then OK, then "Install a windows dll or component".

Just so you know -- Windows gaming in Linux is a "hit or miss" proposition, meaning, some games work well, but lots work poorly or not at all.

Big problem is that the video card vendors tend to drop support for Linux drivers a lot sooner than they do for Windows drivers. AMD dropped Linux support for its HD 2x/3x/4xd-series card while they were still being sold! Nividia tends to do better, supporting their cards longer.

But then, there's the "Hybrid Graphics" problem with machines that come with two graphics chipsets, one intended for basic 2D desktop work, the other for 3D gaming. In a few cases, these work well in Linux, but there are LOTS of threads where folks have not been able to get their machine working well -- primarily due to lack of specialized Linux drivers for these machines.

If your primary use of Linux is going to be Windows gaming, then you're very likely to have a disappointing experience.
