Update some programs help

Postby IceCrystal on Sat Nov 01, 2008 7:00 am

I have some questions about Mint Elyssa and its update functions.

When i was about to try to update Wine through the tutorial at: http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb but i didnt find the place in Mint Elyssa to put
the APT line for Wine in the Mint repos? Where do i put this line in Mint?

What does the "Include dist-upgrade package" in mintUpdate >>> Update-behaviour do? What happens if i check it?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

For the repository you must do the following :
Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

then add to the end of the file the new repository, after wich you must download and import the key:
Code: Select all
wget -q http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/Scott%20Ritchie.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update

Regarding your second question,i think that it is related to upgrading the Mint version (e.g. 5 to 6).
