I've gotten this error message in terminal several times:
Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
Could anyone shed some light on this?

dpkg? Hmm so it's a problem with packages. Would you have not with your command in the terminal open another program of package management like e.g Synaptic? If yes, close it before use your command in the terminal.
