external ntfs disk

i have 2 external 80gb disk and they are regonized but it will not allow me to mount it
i do have one external also fat32 and it is no problem, i made it fat32 so i could go back and forth, linux and xp
but the ntfs is seen but not allowed to mount
-- unclean shut down --etc.

If an ntfs disk isn't properly unmounted in Windows it will generate the errors you mention when mounting in Linux. You need to boot back into a windows machine then mount and unmount the drive properly before it will mount successfully in Mint.
