Does LM-Install determine whether it is installing to laptop

Post by locutus »

Or even, Can it determine that? If it can, Great! But if it can't, are there any options we should be enabling for power management? My laptop is running pretty hot and I'm wondering if there are any tweaks I could do.

BTW, despite being a laptop, I almost always run it on A/C power.

No problems with my Laptop. However, I saw someone else talking about hot cpu temps. The reply looks to be specific to to Dell Inspiron and Latitude.
The is discussed on the Ubuntu forums is here:

It's in the package manager.

I have an Acer Aspire 7520-5185 with AMD Athlon 64 x2 TK-55 (not Turion).

Sorry, should have mentioned that in the first post.

Temps are usually high-40's to mid 50's, which is OK, but if I run a Java game (AE-Lux) it shoots up to 70C and once hit 80. I've been googling around trying to find a maximum temp but I can't find it. Any idea what it is?

Looks like 70-degrees C Max.

Look at this thermal spec.

Make sure the monitor / sensor s/w is working / compatible.
