Hi,
Please guide me through how to install an RPM file in MintLinux.
As per me, Mint version supports only deb type files only (am i right?).

Thanks & Regards

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Open Synaptic, search for and install the package 'alien'.

Open a terminal and run

Code: Select all
sudo alien   *********.rpm

(the ******* bit means the full path to where the rpm file was stored)

This converts the rpm to a deb package which you can then install with

Code: Select all
 sudo dpkg -i    ****.deb
