A file is missing from my linux mint cd /isolinux/splash.jpg

can some1 send me the file or upload it to mediadire.com "splash.jpg"

Seems like the download got corrupted. Did you check the md5 hash?
Linux Mint 8 RC1 = Nice
'apt install' can be used on Linux Mint as a shortcut for 'sudo apt-get install'. 'apt x' can be used for various other apt commands as well.

Old Marcus is right. Make sure you check the MD5 and burn the iso at the slowest possible speed.

i burned it to a cd
and worked fine

I burned another and the file was missing

i used magic iso

You just confirmed what exploder was telling you. You had a bad burn. Re-burn it as he instructed. If you have a problem with one file, there are probably other problems that just haven't shown themselves yet.
