MD5 signature

I am unable/don't know how to obtain the MD5 signature of the ISO file which I downloaded to the desktop on my computer which using VISTA HOME PREMIUM. I downloaded the md5sum to the desktop but could not get to the cmd.exe. Please help

Linux Mint 8 RC1 = Nice
'apt install' can be used on Linux Mint as a shortcut for 'sudo apt-get install'. 'apt x' can be used for various other apt commands as well.
