when i get to the prepare disk space while installing mint the only guided option available on the screen is "guided use entire disk" how do I get the option "guided-resize"??

Has your hard drive already got partitions on it or is it a clean drive.
I could be wrong, but I think if the drive has no partitions on it you have no other option, but what you are getting.

- and you can re-size a partition for Mint using the partition editor that is on the LiveCD.
back up all important data, and it's nice to defrag and clean your Windows harddrive before a partition.
