Compiz animation

Postby tparrish711 on Sat Dec 20, 2008 3:51 pm

I wasn't sure where to put this but I have a question on the animations. A friend of mine has snowflakes that fall on the background of his wallpaper so when he is either away or just wants to activate them he hits a key combination and they turn on. With Christmas around the corner I would like to do something similar but can't seem to find anything on it. He is running Sabayon and I am on Mint 6 so there already may be a problem there. His animation came on Beryl and since Compiz has Beryl integrated in (or so I was told not even sure about that) I was looking for a way to do the same.

I just want the flakes to fall from the top on the screen down like it is snowing in the picture. Any help in pointing me in the right direction will be great thanks!

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hmm - I'm pretty sure (but not a 100%) that there was something like that in Compiz or Beryl earlier (like the "Paint fire " effect)
Google is your friend in this as in many cases (or Yahoo or....)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
