Does anyone have a recommendation of which version of Linux I should install on my 7 year old ASUS laptop for optimum performance? I have Rebecca on it at the moment. Thanks.

Simply the latest one for Xfce: 17.1 Rebecca. In a few weeks, you'll be able to upgrade it to 17.2 Rafaela quite easily. :)
