As recently posted, I installed Elyssa (Gnome) several weeks ago and I'm very favourably impressed with it.
This post is because I've found after transfer from Ubuntu 5.04, the OpenOffice (.doc) files have the correct/original creation dates altered.
All the files are set to the date when I transfer them, replacing the original dates.
I have never experienced this in Linux before and am unable to diagnose the cause.
I've tried dropping the files in via the desktop from a FAT16 USB drive, tried a CD of the files and a USB drive formatted to ext3 but the file creation dates are still being altered, though they're still correct on the USB drives and the CD.
I'm baffled. Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for your attention, Richard.
