Some questions about Linux Mint 6 Main

Postby jacatone on Sun Jan 11, 2009 3:02 am

Firstly, I'm amazed at how good LM 6 is. Was using LM 4 and couldn't get my Wifi to work properly, so I said "what the heck", I'll try version 6 even though it's an old AMD Duron white box. Not only did it find my wifi automatically, it works great. Anyway, in v6, how do I configure a single mouse click for everything including the desktop icons? It recommended the NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver which I installed, but Synaptic recommended nvidia-glx-71 for my older nvidia card. Which one should I use? Or should I try both? Thanks.

Read the Intrepid release notes for your nvidia card
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/810
There's a problem with really old nvidia and the X in Intrepid
For single click I don't know - I never thought of it until yesterday

For single click open Nautilus, Edit >> Preferences >> click the Behavior tab and select single click.

I have installed Mint 6. I was using Mint 5 Elysaa till day before.
Ecellet- improvements more user friendly.
Am concerned about Support- Elyssa based on Ubuntu 8.04, Felicia on Ubuntu 8.10. There was something I read about 3 years support for 8.04 only.
Will that be a problem. Pls advise
Thanks :?:
