It seems that the best thing to do is to get Wine 1.1.3 or better see this description
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=4992
Wine 1.0.1 is the latest stable so 1.1.3 is a beta
A description for how you add the Wine repositories to Ubuntu is found here
http://www.winehq.org/download/deb
I just discovered that Synaptic behaves in a way I did not expect so you'll have to edit sources.list to add the wine repository
Will come back soon about this I hope
I'm back - it turned out that I had installed software-properties-gtk which ruins Synaptic
Follow the guide in http://www.winehq.org/download/deb but use Synaptric instead
You find in Settings > Repositories that you can add a repository (click on New)
