sopcast w/felicia...?

Postby kevinseven on Sun Jan 25, 2009 8:33 pm

still really trying to get the syntax of all this stuff down. Is there a simple way for a Mint user to get rolling with p2p tv? I know I'm just not familiar with linux yet but it is sure frustrating. Just want to be able to watch the sporting events that don't broadcast in the US and broadcast some DIY stuff. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Read the install instructions carefully
and the sopcast home page

The thread where Jason discusses the development of Sopcast for Linux will be of interest to many:
http://ubuntu-virginia.ubuntuforums.org ... 01&page=14

For me, a newbie who has just managed to instal Linux Mint 6, I am missing Sopcast and am really too new to Linux to figure out how to install it. I have been running Windows for years and find some Linux terminolgy rather confusing - you know where you are with .exe files (well, probably infected with some virus/malware but that is separate point entirely). I have a 32 Bit System and really don't get what I need to do to get Sopcast up and running.

The repository is great but anything outside that is rather daunting.

Can anyone give me a few pointers on the basic steps I should take to get the new sopcast player working?

Many thanks,

goater
